1st Ever Commemorative Ed & Frances Elmore Legacy Spelling Bee!

On July 5th 2025, KBPHA proudly hosted the first-ever Commemorative Ed & Frances Elmore Legacy Spelling Bee!

This special event honored the enduring contributions of Ed Elmore — a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Park Ranger who founded the very first Heritage Days 45 years ago — and his wife, Frances Elmore, a beloved Warsaw South teacher and the first signer of KBPHA’s articles of incorporation.

In tribute to the past, participants tackled challenging words from an original 1855 edition of the Kansas Speller.
