This year for Christmas, The Butcher Holler Homestead is bringing you a wonderful treat with a NEW warm blend of herbal tea that is sure to get you feeling cozy. I will also be bringing some of the famous tallow butter in a special scent “Christmas Joy.”

Meet Meagan McDaniel, one of our newest exhibitors at the Kaysinger Pioneer Village. She is a wife and mom from Tightwad, Missouri and is also our local herbalist. Meagan has a business called Butcher Holler where she blends teas and herbs.

6 years ago, Meagan started down a path lined with herbs and teas when she was shocked by all of the ingredients on a bottle of antacid that she couldn’t pronounce. While looking for alternatives, she found a simple tea of chamomile, turmeric, and ginger that worked much better than the store-bought medicine ever did. After that, Meagan says, “I then gathered tons of books and herbs to start testing. I learned so much about the way our ancestors used the herbs to make teas, tinctures, salves, elixirs and more. The passion was born and I started to replace our whole medicine cabinet with these “alternatives.” A year ago I started to feel like I needed to share.”
